Understanding the SERU Assessment
Introduced in October 2021, the SERU assessment ensures all London PHV drivers have the essential knowledge to keep passengers safe and understand their regulatory obligations.
Who is it for?
Mandatory for both new applicants and existing PHV drivers applying to renew their licence.
The Handbook
The assessment is 100% based on the official TfL PHV Driver’s Handbook. We cover all 10 sections.
Test Format
A computer-based test featuring multiple choice questions and ‘fill in the blanks’ exercises.
Why it matters
It proves you understand Safety, Equality, and Regulations. Failing this means no licence.
